Just discovered it did not work.
You interviewed very well and were selected to go to the last round of interviews.
After the interview, he prepared a strong party in the interview that you have provided clear answers to the above challenges.
Then you have the news. I went with another candidate.
It ’s again?
Not yet. This is the time to dust off your network card after the interview. The networking letter after the interview closes the loop on the entire interview process. In this letter, the applicant recognizes that were not elected and focuses on the future. The tactic is to encourage other ideas, contacts or potential customers can provide the next step in the job search process.
This is worth pursuing?
Most people are not extend the job search process to this point, they do not feel comfortable with taking an aggressive stance. But the worst that can happen is your e-mail is ignored and trashed. You can get a response. Its just another e-mail.
The job search cycle
At a high level, the research includes five phases:
Step 1 – Creation of networks or network card
Networking is the art of turning strangers into friends and supporters
Step 2 – Submission of resume or cover letter for a job
Step 3 – The Job Interview
Step 4 – The letter and follow-up interview after
Step 5 – The networking letter after the interview
This letter is a hybrid – a combination of Phase 1 and Phase 5.
Suppose you receive on your fear of rejection and decided to send
the interviewer follow-up letter network.
What say you?
The contents of the letter of Post Interview networks
The letter must include the following elements:
- Recognize the fact that it did not work
- Reiterate that likes the company and really want to work there
- Ask the interviewer that you have not
- Ask your experience with your job search – I. e. “If I leave, what to do next?”
- Ask other contacts you can refer.
- Request that the interviewer will give the opinion referred to competitors and other companies should seek
All these questions are intended to collect the interviewers brain.
You are recognizing that it is time to move on and you just want a little help and expert advice.
I wrote a letter after the interview networks that can be used as a guide. Please check and decide what you want to include (what you are comfortable with), in his letter.
Example
Dear Mr. Jones:
I was disappointed to discover that it has expanded the job of technical writer for another candidate. Your company is a leader in the market and would be a great place for me to continue my career.
I think the candidate who received the offer must be enthusiastic and excited.
At this point, I’m ready to move on with my job search and was wondering if you could give me some expert advice. I’m committed to this area and want to know what companies must pursue if it were in my shoes.
I would also appreciate any advice you could give me on the overall quality of my interview and where I could improve. It would be valuable information.
Finally, if not too much trouble, could provide a network port in the industry that could contact? I could call without using your name as a reference, if it makes you more comfortable.
I appreciate any help and advice you can provide and please keep in mind if it evolves into a new position or a current position open.
Thanks again for the opportunity to interview with the company.
Sincerely,
Perry Maisin
Comments
I’m sure many of you are thinking that this letter crosses the line.
After all, the interviewer does not owe you anything, and some people do not respond to a letter from monitoring networks. But most employers have never received this letter and many applaud their persistence. Even if you receive a reply with a little, or contact, your letter was a success because it has the conversation.
Closing the Loop
The networking letter after the interview full circle cycle research. The search for a more effective way of maintaining a network perspective throughout the process and not lose the opportunity. To succeed, you must take every opportunity to sell yourself perspective employer or contact. At the same time, must pay it forward to establish trust and credibility with foreigners who want to cultivate friends and supporters. A key ingredient of its network strategy should be to provide knowledge and free advice. We return to you and you get spontaneous, seemingly random leads that are closer to your goal.
